Shaped Space Installation

This was the first full installation of the shapes in space.

The final degree show piece will also feature a similar type of installation, but with more shapes than the current piece.

The installation strives to create an environment from the shapes, thereby redefining the space and creating a whole new sensation. The sheer abundance plays a large role in the piece, which causes the viewer to re-examine the structures to a new level of detail. We as human beings notice things in abundance. For instance, we notice a whole group of ants moving across a surface, but now ant may be missed. A whole flock of birds is much more impressive and awe-inspiring than just one lone bird. The abundance makes us notice things differently by how they all work together to form a larger one.

The shapes flow fluidly around the room at eye level where the viewer can engage the most with the different mirrored surfaces. The mirrors work to amplify the shapes and the space and the light.

The solid geometry of the shapes is contrasted with the fluid and natural movement and interaction of the viewer in the reflection of the mirrors.

The geometry forms its balance, and the viewers interaction balances that geometry, creating a space of intrigue and curiosity.
