Emma Atrens. Fine Artist.

Fine art student at Lancaster University.

Living by making.

Emma Atrens’ sculptures and installations question the intricate complexities of an individual experience of the space around us and of our relationship to our surroundings. The installations and sculptural elements are simple, yet stimulating, as they work to reveal a new sense of spatial awareness in familiar environments. Evoking intrigue through repetition and abundance of the formations in space create an expended experience, causing us to question our familiar experiences of our environment and how they influence the way we live within them.

The aesthetics of nature and its intersections with architecture are a source of inspiration in further developing and questioning our environment. In re-working the overlooked and overfamiliar spatial experiences, Emma’s practice attempts to explore art and spatial structure as part of a web of social, philosophical and experiential constructs.
